Your locally owned Piggly Wiggly is starting a program to help local elementary schools. We at Piggly Wiggly believe that a quality education should be a community commitment. To show our appreciation to our local schools and our loyal customers, we are asking them to give their Piggly Wiggly grocery receipts to any city or county student to be turned in to their teachers. We will give back to the school a rebate of 1% of the total of the grocery purchases collected by each school.
Start Date: Monday, November 1, 2010.
End Date: End of 2010-2011 school year.
Piggly Wiggly will provide a box for each teacher in grades K-6
for the collection of receipts. Each teacher will be responsible
for totaling the receipts and turning them in to the school
office.
The 1% rebate excludes fuel, deli, and tobacco products.
The schools will turn in the totaled receipts to the
Andalusia Piggly Wiggly on the last school day of each
month, and within 10 days the 1% rebate will be issued
to authorized school personnel, by the Andalusia Piggly Wiggly
office.
The classroom of each school which collects the receipts with the
most value will receive a visit from Piggly Wiggly employees along
with snacks and juice each month.
1% rebate will be paid on a monthy basis.
There will be no limit on the amount of rebate each school
can receive.
Only receipts from the Andalusia Piggly Wiggly will be accepted.
There will be a $1,000.00 initial donation made by Piggly Wiggly
which will be divided on a prorated basis between participating
schools at the end of the first month.
All elementary schools, K-6, in Covington County are eligible.
